When you're ready to purchase a new coat from Neiman Marcus or a new iPhone from Apple, you have the option of financing the cost of your order over time with buy now, pay later. BNPL, also known as point-of-sale loans, is kind of like a modern-day layaway option: Consumers can buy items online or in-store, and then split up the cost of a purchase over a few weeks or a few months with regular installment payments rather than pay for the entire purchase up front.

Affirm has more than 245,000 merchants including Amazon, Peloton, adidas and Target. Through affirm.com or the Affirm app, consumers are also able to use the BNPL option at any retailer, either online or in-store, that aren't integrated with the company. Consumers will receive a single-use virtual card to pay for their purchases.

Affirm is a good choice because of its widespread availability: You can essentially use it on any purchase anywhere by using the Affirm website or the app. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of merchants that partner with Affirm, consumers are able to use the BNPL option at any retailer, either online or in-store, that aren't integrated with the company through Affirm's website or mobile app. Consumers will receive a single-use virtual card through the website or the app to pay for their purchases wherever they want.

The long-term financing option, known as Sezzle + Ally, allows consumers to finance purchases worth up to $40,000 with a loan length of up to 60 months (your payments are monthly with this option). However, you may have to pay interest for this option.

Sezzle has over 40,000 partner merchants, but it's not connected with as many well-known or popular retailers as other BNPL providers. You can use the service both in-person and online, but you're limited to using it at partner merchants. You just sign up for Sezzle virtual card through the app and then add it to your Google Pay or Apple Pay and use it at checkout like you would any other virtual card.

Zip is connected with over 51,000 merchants globally, including Target, North Face and Wrangler. Consumers are also able to use an app or Chrome extension to make a purchase with retailers that are not integrated with Zip. Customers will receive a virtual, one-time card to fund their purchase either in-store or online.

Whenever you use the app or the browser extension, you'll receive a virtual, one-time card to fund your purchase either in-store or online. That means you can use Zip to pay for dinner or groceries in person as well as for your online clothing orders.

Who's this for? PayPal is a global financial technology system known for its online payment system. It launched its own buy now, pay later product known as "Pay in 4," which is a good option for people looking for a short-term financing option with 0% interest, no late fees that aren't reported to the credit bureaus.

PayPal 'Pay in 4', unlike the other BNPL providers on the list, doesn't have a separate app, or browser extension or website that allows consumers to use the service at online or in-store retailers not integrated with the company. PayPal does, however, have the advantage of being an established, multinational financial technology company, so it has millions of merchants available such as Uniqlo, Estee Lauder, Target and Best Buy.

Buy now, pay later is a type of short-term financing that allows you to pay a fraction of the price upfront, and spread the rest over six weeks. The best part is, there are no fees when you shop with Zilch at thousands of stores online.

Zilch offers two exciting ways to pay, and customers can earn up to 2% back in Zilch Rewards when they Pay in 1, both online and in-store. You can also Snooze or delay a payment if they need more time.

Set monthly budgets and use Zilch to help you stick to them. When you sign up for an account, we will assign you an Available to Split limit, based on a soft credit check we run when we approve you for our service. Good repayment behaviour may mean we increase this over time.

If you are already registered with us, update your registration to add sales tax as a new tax type. Log into your business online services account or fill out the retail sales and use section on Form R-1.

We are a large family and our children are getting older, we wanted to take 1 big family vacation to Colorado. Thanks to Uplift we were able to book in advance and pay monthly to make this happen! It was an awesome trip and lots of fantastic memories were made!!

Deciding on a particular service comes down to your needs, style preference and budget. Do you want a monthly box? Or will something quarterly do? Do you want to buy the clothes or use a rental service? Do you want a personal stylist or an algorithm? Do you want brand-new clothes or are you OK with curated thrift? Are you avoiding fast fashion in favor of something more sustainable? Do you have favorite brands you want to stick to?

As a Stitch Fix user, I can report a positive experience with this particular clothing subscription option. I'm always excited when I get a box, which you can customize to come at whichever frequency fits your schedule and budget -- no membership fee or monthly subscription required. My account is linked to one of my Pinterest boards, so my stylist can get more ideas of what I like, and she always leaves a thoughtful note in my box, which is a nice personalized touch. The Style Cards that come with each box also show different ways to pair the pieces (and often with basic items that are probably already in your closet). My advice, though, is not to shell out cash on an item unless you're sure you're going to wear it often enough.

Sign up online or in the app (available on iOS or Android). Fill out a detailed style profile, including your sizes, whether you detest or love shopping, if you wear heels, what parts of your body you like to show off, and more. Stitch Fix offers styled boxes for men, women and kids, and lets you set a preferred price point between $25 and $500 per item (kids items start at $10 per item). I picked the lowest price bracket when I signed up, and in my last box, none of my individual items were over $60. You pay a $20 styling fee when your box is assembled, you get three days to try on the clothes, and you can return anything you don't want or like. The $20 fee applies to whatever you keep, and if you don't keep anything, you pay only that fee. If you love your box and keep everything, you also get a 25% Buy All discount.

To use Dia & Co., you first take a style quiz that asks about your sizes, how clothes typically fit you, your style preferences and your preferred price range for items like tops, pants and dresses. You pay a $20 styling fee to have your box assembled. When the box arrives, you can buy what you like and return what you don't. The $20 fee applies at checkout to whatever you keep. You can order style boxes to best fit your schedule -- a monthly subscription box, bimonthly or a customized frequency -- as long as you try on and return clothes within five days. If you love your box and keep everything, you also get a 25% Buy All discount. There's also a boutique, if you're not quite ready to try a whole box.

A Menlo Club shipment combines multiple aspects of menswear: clothes, shoes and athleisure. As with many other boxes, you first take a style quiz, and then you get two clothing items per month in the mail. The Menlo clothes are casual enough to wear on their own if you're a more subtle dresser, but the more items you acquire, the more you can put together new outfits and step outside of your fashion comfort zone. In addition, the Menlo store, which anyone can shop from without an account, often has good sales on designer brands -- like $58 pants for $10. If you're a member, you also get 25% off in the store.

The packages cost $65 per month with no styling fee -- you get to keep everything. The credit card on your account is charged the day you place your order and the same day the following month. Trendy Butler also has an online shop where you can buy specific pieces with your account.

If something doesn't work in your box, Trendy Butler offers returns (not refunds) and exchanges for members through its support email. You must have received the items in the last 60 days, explain why the items don't work so Trendy Butler can improve your profile, and have the clothes in "unworn condition" with the tags still on. If the items meet these criteria, you'll be sent a prepaid return label.

Shopping for new clothes can be time-consuming, tedious and expensive. Fortunately, there are now online services, such as Stitch Fix, that aim to simplify the process. I recently signed up for Stitch Fix to try it out myself.

Two of the shirts Chelsea got were from Market & Spruce, which is a label exclusive to Stitch Fix. The Pink Clover top and Judy Blue jeans were available only through online resale stores like Poshmark and ThredUp, but they were cheaper on those sites. The Keds shoes were $50 with Stitch Fix, but Chelsea found them for $44.99 with free shipping on Zappos.com.

Closet looking a little drab lately? There's good news! Clothing subscriptions and online styling services are an easy, often cost-efficient, and fun way to upgrade your wardrobe. These days you can find clothing subscription boxes, personal styling services, and jewelry rental subscriptions--even underwear memberships! Our readers have voted on their favorite subscription boxes and the results of the 2023 Readers' Choice Awards are in.

Once you've found the style you're interested in, decide whether or not you want to work with a stylist or trust the monthly offerings. Many boxes pair you with a stylist who chooses garments based on a personal quiz; however, there are some boxes that let you choose your items or simply stick to a pre-determined edit. Keep these options in mind as you browse and don't forget to read customer reviews for the scoop on clothing quality and check out some of the boxes our reviewers have received to get an idea of what these subscriptions are sending. 041b061a72
